CNG consumers in misery after pump closure

Published Updated

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) consumers are facing severe problems after pumping stations have been closed across the Sindh province, including Karachi. The decision was announced after a joint meeting of Sui Southern Gas Company SSGC and CNG Association to keep gas supply to CNG pumps low due to repair work at Zam Zama Gas Field.
On Saturday, CNG stations across Sindh were closed at 12 midnight till 12pm on Sunday as people are desperately waiting opening of the filling pumps which will also remain closed from 12pm on Tuesday to 12pm Wednesday.
A large number of motorists thronged the CNG stations yesterday following the announcement of gas closure.
Consumers say they are being compelled to use expensive fuels even at the times of inflation.
