While the Railways, as an institution, is on the verge of collapse, there is a need to dismantle the Railways Ministry and abolish the superfluous portfolio of Federal Minister in-charge of Railways. At least, the government would save huge amount of taxpayers being spent on perks and privileges of the useless officials of the ministry.
If Bilour has any semblance of respect, he should tender his resignation before he presides over the demise of an institution built by colonial Britain more than 125 years ago and was a symbol of British contribution to the economic development of the region under their rule. It is said that the mess in the Railways has been deliberately created to promote the interest of 'truck and bus mafia' and Bilour is well aware of this but has chosen to remain silent.
