Ukraine's grain exports has totalled 3.7 million tonnes so far in the 2011/12 season compared to 4.5 million in the same period a season ago, analyst UkrAgroConsult said on Wednesday. It said Ukraine exported 6.7 million tonnes of grain in the same period in 2009 and 6.6 million in 2008.
The consultancy quoted export data as showing the former Soviet republic exported 201,000 tonnes of grain in the first nine days of October compared to 400,000 tonnes in September 1-9. The volume included 50,500 tonnes of wheat and 150,900 tonnes of maize. Ukraine, which plans to harvest up to 53 million tonnes of grain in 2011, plans grain export of a record 24-25 million tonnes in 2011/12 against 12.7 million in 2010/11.
