LEAs arrest 10 suspects, recover weapons

Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) Tuesday claimed to have arrested 10 suspects and recovered weapons in separate raids in various parts of the metropolis. According to SP CID, Mazhar Mashwani, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh police arrested an arm smuggler and recovered huge cache of weapons from his possession.
He said the team of CID conducted raid on a tip-off in Quaidabad and arrested an arm bootlegger, namely Rafique, and recovered one LMG, one rifle, one TT pistol and 96 rounds from his possession. He added that case number 495/11 has been registered against the accused. Further investigation into the case is underway.
Meanwhile, Sindh Rangers and police conducted raids in different parts of Lyari to arrest a notorious gangster, namely Wasiullah Lakho, and detained nine other suspects. According to sources, the LEAs conducted raids in Daryabad, Nayabad, Karli, Khada Market, Mama Hotel, etc and taken some nine suspects into custody for interrogation. They said the raids were made on the information that Wasiullah Lakho is present in Lyari along-with his accomplice namely Ismail Tamwali. However, both the accused persons escaped from the scene during the raids. They said that all nine detained persons were released after investigation.
