Dr Saghir felicitated

Published Updated

The steering committee of three devolved hospitals of the city felicitated the Provincial Health Minister Dr Saghir Ahmed on resumption of his office and sought strong expectations that the Minister would come forward to resolve the problems faced by JPMC on urgent basis.
A meeting of the Steering Committee of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), and National Institute of Child Health (NICH) held on Monday, discussed different problems and issues. The Committee showed deep concern over the irresponsible and rude behaviour of Sindh Health Secretary towards addressing the JPMC problems.
It decided that as the transfer of JPMC from the Federal Government to Sindh Government is in the Sindh High Court so till the court's verdict comes, there should be a smooth working relationship between JPMC and Sindh Health Ministry so that the hospital's working and patients should not be affected. The Committee urged the Health Minister that majority of JPMC employees want to remain with the Federal Government so the Minister should influence the concerned authorities in this regard.
It also demanded to the Health Minister that adequate funds should be released immediately to resolve the different pending problems of JPMC including generator repairing and shortage of fuel to run these generators. The employees, post graduates, house officers are deprived of their salaries for many months. The employees have serious concern over cessation of different facilities including hiring facility, emergency allowance and others after devolution by the provincial government.
