A three members bench of Sindh High Court on Monday again issued notices in constitutional petition against non-confirmation of two additional judges of Sindh High Court to the respondents.
The bench comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Sajaad Ali Shah again issued notices to the respondents including the Federation and Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment to file comments on the two identical petitions, against non-confirmation of additional judges - Ghulam Sarwar and Irfan Sadat.
The petitions were moved by Sindh High Court Bar Association (Sukkur) and Syed Mehmood Akhter Naqvi. On Monday, when the matter came up for hearing, the Additional Attorney General sought two weeks' time to file comments on behalf of the federation, which was allowed accordingly by the bench.
The bench ordered repeat notice to Parliamentary Committee and adjourned the hearing till October 24. Both the additional judges were recommended for confirmation by Judicial Commission but the Parliamentary Committee did not confirm them and dropped their names. Dr Faroogh Naseem and Anwer Mansoor Khan Advocate represented the petitioners.
