Major Apple supplier Foxconn, a Taiwan IT giant, hailed the US firm's late founder Steve Jobs October 6, calling him a visionary who helped make technology "beautiful" and changed lives around the world.
"The global electronics industry is all the better for the many contributions he made to ensuring that technology is understandable, beautiful, and, most importantly, accessible to people from all walks of life," it said.
Foxconn, which produces iPads and iPhones for Apple at giant factories in China, described in a statement Jobs' "immeasurable and positive impact on the lives of people around the world". "We are truly saddened by the passing of Steve Jobs, an industry visionary, a true partner to our company, and a great friend," the company said.
