Corruption of rulers made life of people miserable: chief minister Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the plundering and corruption of the rulers of Islamabad have made the life of the people of Pakistan miserable and this plundering is unprecedented in the 64 years' history of the country.
He said that corrupt system has given nothing to the masses except tears and the movement started by Quaid Pakistan Muslim League-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is against this corrupt system. He prayed that may Allah Almighty give us courage to bring back that money which was looted by Zardari and deposited in the Swiss banks and spend it on the progress and prosperity of the masses.
He said that wrong policies of the Federal Government has plunged the country in darkness and all sectors including industry, agriculture and trade have been badly affected due to the worst crisis of energy and loss of billion of rupees has also been caused to the exports.
He said that it is an achievement of Pakistan Muslim League-N, which, under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, has constructed model villages equipped with modern residential facilities for the flood-affected families for the first time in the history of the country. The Chief Minister announced to give status of Tehsil to Kot Chattah and constructing bund at Jhakar Imam Shah at the bank of River Indus.
According to information of DGPR received here on Sunday he was addressing a big public meeting after inaugurating the second instalment of Watan Card and distributing keys of houses to the flood-affected families constructed in the model village at Rakh Dhol near Kot Chattah in Dera Ghazi Khan during the day. Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa, Member National Assembly Sardar Saifuddin Khosa and elected representatives of Dera Ghazi Khan as well as a large number of people were present in the public meeting.
Addressing the public meeting, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that worst kind of flood of the history caused massive destruction during last year in Southern Punjab, thousands of villages wiped out and lakhs of livestock were killed and the standing crops were damaged.
He said that on the instructions of Quaid PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he and his entire team and workers stood with the people in the hour of trial and reached Rajanpur, Layyah, Mianwali, Kot Addu, Daira Din Panah, Kot Sabzal and every that mohallah and village where flood water moved in they took active part in the relief and rehabilitation activities of flood-affected ones. The Chief Minister said that on his and Nawaz Sharif's appeal, Punjab, Pakistan and expatriate Pakistanis donated wholeheartedly for the assistance of flood-affected ones and Rs 1.55 billion have been deposited in his fund and 22 model villages equipped with latest residential facilities have been constructed in the flood-hit areas and thousand families will soon be shifted in these houses.
He said that schools, dispensaries, hospitals, parks and other basic amenities have been provided in these model villages. He said that model villages will not be affected by load shedding of WAPDA as electricity is being provided in these villages through solar energy and biogas system has been set up there. He said that there is no computer education in the school set-up in any village of the country but computer education has also been arranged in the schools of these model villages. He said that this will be the first model village in Dera Ghazi Khan where computer education has been started in the school.
He said that three model villages in Dera Ghazi Khan, six in Muzaffargarh, four in Mianwali, three each in Layyah, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan have been constructed. He said that the work on development projects of billion of rupees including Daanish School, Ghazi University and other projects are going on in Dera Ghazi Khan. He said that the work on the project of setting up medical college in Dera Ghazi Khan will soon be started. He said that all resources of the masses are a trust and every penny of the public money will be spent on the welfare of the masses. He said that people of Punjab took active part in the relief and rehabilitation activities for the flood-affected persons during the worst flood of last year and they have been praying for affected ones. He said that now people of Lahore suffering from dengue are waiting for their prayers. He distributed keys of houses among the affected and medals among government officers showing best performance.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated NADRA center in Dera Ghazi Khan. On the inauguration of second phase of distribution of Watan Card, the Chief Minister said that on his and Nawaz Sharif's demand, it has been decided to give another Rs 20 thousand to each flood-affected family and today the second instalment of Rs 20 thousand per family has been released to 25 thousand flood-affected families in Dera Ghazi Khan whereas third instalment will soon be released. The Chief Minister visited the houses, dispensaries and schools constructed in model village and reviewed the education being provided to the students there.
