Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 114,205 tonnes of cargo comprising 79,856 tonnes of import cargo and 34,349 tonnes of export cargo including 6,240 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 79,856 tonnes comprised of 55,520 tonnes of containerised cargo; 128 tonne of general cargo; 2,305 tonnes of wheat and 21,903 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,349 tonnes comprised of 26,316 tonnes of containerised cargo; 70 tonnes of general cargo; 1,763 tonnes of cement and 6,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Two ships namely Lara Rickmers and Uzava carrying one container ship and an oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz YM Colombo, YM Fuzhou, Hansa Africa, APL Chicago, Kota Akbar and Shamrock Venus carrying five container ships and an oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Kota Akbar, YM Fuzhou and Shamrock Venus carrying two container ships and an oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while five ships namely YM Colombo, Hansa Africa, Fade-1, CS Stealth and Enrico Ievoli carrying two container ships, a wheat carrier, an oil tanker and an ethanol carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Two vessels viz OEL Shreyas and Umm Ad Dalkh carrying one container ship and one chick peas carrier respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while seven vessels viz Lindavia, APL Shenzhen, Samin-1, Hyundai Freedom, Chem Star, Po Yang Hu and Pacific Wisdom carrying four container ships, one molasses carrier, one naphtha ship and one DAP carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

One ship namely MV Nala Delmas sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while four ships namely MV MSC Jade, MV Saigon Express, MT Sky Dream and MT Clipper Hermes are expected to sail on Saturday morning. A total number of thirteen vessels viz MV Opal-II, MV Hiba Al Nour-B, MV Alexi-I, MV Kaya Pioneer, MV Safina-2, MV MSC Anafi, MV Northern Power, MV Nala Delmas, MV MSC Jade, MV Saigon Express, MT Serengeti, MT Clipper Hermes and MT Sky Dream are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, corn, containers, chemicals, diesel oil, ethelene and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Al-Soor-II, Al-Salam-II, Mesaieed, MT Sargodha, Ginga Merline and Lady Bug with two diesel oil tankers, one furnace oil tanker, one cement carrier, one palm oil tanker and one container ship respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz CV Lady Bug and Ginga Merline carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Saturday.
