Tributes paid to late Pashto movies director: need to forge unity among artistes stressed

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture has called upon the artistes' community to forge unity in their ranks for promotion of art and culture activities in the province.
Speaking at a condolence meeting for the noted director of Pashto movies, Nasim Khan, here under the auspices of Culture Journalists Forum (CJF) in collaboration with Peshawar Press Club the Minister said that art and culture could only be promoted when artistes get united on one platform and sink their differences. He added that artistes could play due role in establishing lasting peace and introducing social values.
"It is regretted that despite my repeated advice, artistes community do not gather at one platform so that fruitful efforts for the promotion of art could be launched in a positive direction and also plight of the deserving artistes be improved," he added. Ehtisham Toru, president of Culture Journalists Forum, Senior Film Producer Qaiser Sanobar, TV actor Tariq Jamal, noted artiste Najibullah Anjum, former BC Station Director Nisar Mohammad Khan, popular film actor Aman Khan and Abid Khan, nephew of Nasim Khan, also paid glowing tributes to Nasim Khan. The speakers said that Nasim Khan had contributed immensely to the Pashto movies in early 90s, and wanted to purge them of obscenity and vulgarity.
