Fourth anniversary of Shuhuda-e-Karsaz: PPP finalises arrangements

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has finalised arrangements to observe fourth death anniversary of those killed during attack on the procession led by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on Karsaz, Shahrah-e-Faisal. According to a press release issued by Peoples Secretariat, Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the Chief Minister chaired a special meeting of PPP Karachi that decided to honour Shuhuda-e-Karsaz, who laid their lives for the protection of their beloved leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on October 18, 2007.
There were 175 workers killed with 575 others injured but managed to protect their leader who was the actual target of planners keen to assassinate the PPP chairperson. The main event to pay homage to defenders of BB Shaheed was decided to be held at from 5pm to 8pm at Shuhuda-e-Karsaz chowk, where party leaders workers will light lamps in memory of 175 of their martyred colleagues. A memorial meeting, to be addressed by Sindh Chief Minister and other prominent leaders of PPP would be held a day earlier on October 17.
The meeting that reviewed arrangements for the day also decided that the memorial site dedicated to the Shuhuda-e-Karsaz will also be formally inaugurated on October 18. Taj Haider, Agha Siraj Durrani, Najmi Alam, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Said Ghani, Siddiq Abu Bhai, Latif Mughal, Raja Razzaq, Abid Satti, Zulfiqar Qaimkhani Qasim Baloch, Afzal Ahmed, Rauf Nagori, Junaid Jadi and others also attended the meeting.
