Punjab chief minister's kitchen gardening programme Quality vegetable seeds being sold

The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has sold 76,000 packets of quality vegetable seeds under Chief Minister's Kitchen Gardening Programme. This was informed to the Punjab Agriculture Minister Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh who was presiding a meting to review progress of the project.
The meeting was also attended by Rao Kashif Raheem Khan Member Provincial Assembly Punjab and officers of Agriculture Department. Dr Anjam Ali Director General Agriculture (Ext.) informed the meeting that during last month 76,137 seed packets of eight winter vegetables including coriander, turnip, radish, fenugreek, rape seed, carrot, lettuce and spinach have been sold throughout the province @ Rs 50/- per packet. He further said that 382 sale points for seed packet have been established by the department in the province besides holding road shows for creating awareness among urban and peri-urban population to promote kitchen gardening.
The Minister for Agriculture Punjab Malik Ahmad Aulakh underlined that substantial portion of domestic needs can be met through promotion of kitchen gardening. He directed agriculture officials to ensure sale target of 170,000 seed packet by the end of October. He further directed them to submit daily progress report in this regard.
