Commodities' prices, barring a few turn lower due to good supply position

Commodities were generally lower on the wholesale markets during the week ended on October 1,2011 with the exception of a couple of goods showing rise.
On Monday minor changes were marked in thin trade on Commodity wholesale markets - wheat old bardan seen at Rs 2600 and new quality quoted at Rs 2615, cotton cakes with bag in Sindh low type was unchanged at Rs 1100, while better type lost Rs 50 to Rs 1250.
On Tuesday wholesale markets witnessed sluggishness: Guwar Sindh and Punjab rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6800 and Rs 7900, Basmati broken low type shed Rs 1400 to Rs 5000, while better type lost Rs 500 to Rs 6000, cotton cakes in Sindh with bag low type was at Rs 1100, while the other type lost Rs 50 to Rs 1200.
On Wednesday fluctuations soared though prices behaved well grams Australia No 1 conceded Rs 100 to Rs 4900 and Rs 5100, gram dal No 1 shed same amount to Rs 6200 and Rs 6400, grams Australia No II lost Rs 300 to Rs 4800 and Rs 5000, gram Aus No II dal lost Rs 100 to Rs 5900 and Rs 6100, grams 50x50 shed same amount to Rs 5400 and Rs 5600, yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4150 and Rs 4350, wheat old and new bardana shed Rs 10 to Rs 2590 and Rs 2605, gur low type gained Rs 800 to Rs 6800 and better quality stayed put at Rs 8200, cotton-cakes rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1150 and Rs 1250, til low type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3800, while better type was up Rs 50 to Rs 3850.
On Jodia Bazaar Kirana items per 40 kg black pepper from Singapore dropped Rs 1000 to Rs 27000, mace conceded Rs 2000 to Rs 104,000, small cardamom conceded Rs 4000 to Rs 72000, big cardamom shed Rs 3000 to Rs 72000, Copra Ceylon lost Rs 600 to Rs 6600, Copra India shed Rs 400 to Rs 6500, Kalongee lost Rs 500 to Rs 8000, dry ginger (China) shed Rs 700 to Rs 16800, long Pepper shed Rs 3000 to Rs 41,000, star aniseed was quoted at Rs 18000 and cuminseed shed Rs 1500 to Rs 14,000.
On Thursday Irri-6 Sindh was up Rs 50 to Rs 3650, Irri 6 Sindh new was quoted higher at Rs 3550 and Rs 3600. Cottonseed oilcakes with bag in Sindh low type lost Rs 50 to Rs 1100, while the other variety rose by same amount to Rs 1300.
On Jodia Bazaar among chemical items Rangolite (per pound) China conceded Rs 3 to Rs 90, hydrosulpite China 88 percent was quoted at Rs 127, while from Germany same item rose by Rs 26 to Rs 169, acetic acid Taiwan lost Rs 5.80 to Rs 90.20 and Korean lost Rs 3 to Rs 89. Hydrogen peroxide Descon 50 percent conceded Rs 7 to Rs 52 and Sitara lost Rs 8 to Rs 53.
On Friday not a single change was seen on the grain and seed markets, as most of the participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar milk powder moved higher. The changes were: MILK POWDER SKIMMED (Per bag of 25 kg): Irish skimmed was quoted at Rs 8,500 and Haleeb SMP was quoted at Rs 6,500. VEGETABLE: Balie Gold edged up by Rs 700 to Rs 9,900 and Haleeb Veg was quoted at Rs 9,900. SWEETENED (Per carton): Comelle moved upward by Rs 700 to Rs 5,800.
On Saturday a few changes were seen due to balanced demand and supply position, wheat old Bardan and wheat new Bardan both shed Rs 10 to Rs 2580-2590, respectively, guwar Sindh and Punjab, however, gained Rs 100 to Rs 6900-7000, gur low types shed Rs 100 to Rs 6700 and best quality lost Rs 200 to Rs 8000. Only one change was seen on the seed side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low quality was unchanged at Rs 1100, while the best type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1250, other items maintained the overnight levels in process of slow trading.
On Jodia Bazaar raw rubber ended up. The changes were: CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): RSSV edged higher by Rs 10 to Rs 240 and Pale Crape TPC3 was quoted at Rs 270. LATEX: Merrytax (28 kg) finished up by Rs 20 to Rs 1,420, Semnan Tex moved upward by Rs 20 to Rs 1,420.
