Additional SPs, SP CIA given targets for recovery, investigation

Additional Superintendents of Police and SP CIA of city have been given clear targets for recovery of looted property and expedite the investigation of all cases on merit especially heinous crimes on a top priority.
Capital City Investigation Police Chief Ali Aamir Malik told APP here on Sunday that SSP Investigation Abdul Razzaq Cheema had been asked to monitor the output of all SPs and brief him daily in the evening.
He said all in charges investigation of police stations had further been directed to supervise investigation of important cases personally and guide their sub-ordinates for tracing out blind murders and other heinous crimes. He said his doors during office hours were always open for the public and he attended his office daily till 5 pm to facilitate the masses.
Capital City Police on the directive of CCPO Ahamd Raza Tahir has taken an other bold step that no alleged accused or person to be taken into custody unless until proved guilty or his direct or indirect involvement in commission of offence established.
When contacted Investigation SSP Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that it was brought to notice of high ups that in certain criminal circumstance, innocent people or opponents were implicated in false cases by the influential complainants to achieve their vested interests. While after arrest, in the course of investigation, they proved innocent.
He said hence in the interest of quick administration of justice and to fully ensure transparent investigation absolutely on merit, it was decided that no alleged accused or person would be taken into police custody unless, it was proved legally about his involvement. The SSP said police investigators had also been warned categorically not to harass any person and no one should be detained without any lawful authority. He said in case of registration of case, the accused must be called in writing to join the investigation and vindicate his position if he was innocent.
Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that " he only accountable to Allah" and above from all considerations. He will continue to discharged in professional obligations strictly in accordance with the cardinal principles of Islam and canon of justice. He said that "he will never tolerate injustice with any of citizen in his domain in criminal matters and fully address his genuine grievance on top priority".
SP Investigation Model Town, Shoaib Khurram Janbaz had already circulated the same directions to all investigators and strictly implementing its enforcement in true letter and spirit. In some cases, police officers have also been suspended for arresting innocent people without establishing their involvements in crimes.
