Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government is holding an energy conference in Islamabad on Monday, and the people will hear good news about overcoming the electricity loadshedding in the country. Talking to newsmen at his residence here on Sunday evening, Gilani said that the government fully realises the difficulties of industrialists, businessmen and domestic consumers due to the prolonged loadshedding.
"That is why it is holding the energy moot to tackle this crisis on war footing". He said that the government was also restructuring public sector entities to make them efficient, and cut their financial losses, which are a great burden on the national resources.
The Prime Minister said the all parties conference had proved that the political and military leadership are united to protect national interests, solidarity and integrity of the country.
Political parties not represented in the Parliament were also invited to the APC so that all shades of opinion were taken into confidence on the compelling national issues, he added.
He reiterated that Pakistan wants to have friendly relations with the United States and to resolve difference through dialogue.
"Pakistan is a very responsible nuclear power and its defence is in very strong hands," he added.
Gilani said that a strong Afghanistan is in Pakistan''s national interest. Therefore, Pakistan would play its vital role and make every effort for peace and stability in that country. He said the people living in southern Punjab want a separate province, for which PPP government would adopt constitutional mechanism.
