Five injured in hand-grenade attacks

As many as two persons injured by a hand grenade that was hurled at a medical store located in Qasba Colony, Orangi Town, on late Saturday. According to the police, the incident took place at Ali Medical Store where unknown riders threw a hand grenade and managed to flee from the scene.
Resultantly, two persons including a worker of the shop were wounded. The injured were taken to Qatar Hospital for treatment. They said the police during initial course of investigation came to know that it was locally made hand grenade. They said this Medical Store had witnessed a targeted killing spree some two years ago that left a man killed and two others injured.
Following the said incident, tension prevailed in the said area where all commercial and social activities have been suspended and heavy contingent of law enforcers were brought to avert further untoward incident. Yet another hand grenade hurled at Agra Taj Colony near Kameela Stop within the limits of Karli police station on late Saturday, leaving three passers-by injured.
According to details, the incident took place at Agra Taj Colony near Kameela Stop where unknown riders threw a hand grenade and managed to flee from the scene. Resultantly, three passers-by got injured, who were transported to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment. Police suspected that the hand grenade, which might have been thrown at nearby place where an event was being celebrated, was mistakenly fallen down at the spot. Following the said incident, tension prevailed in the said area where all commercial and social activities have been suspended and heavy contingent of law enforcers were brought to avert any other untoward incident.
