Time has come for Pakistan to redeem its honour: Jamaat-i-Islami

Naib Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad has warned the government and the people of Pakistan that the country is faced with a grave challenge, which if not tackled rightly and forthwith, the situation may go out of control. He reminded the government to immediately get out of the unfortunate post-9/11 situation, in which Pervez Musharraf had dumped the country and the nation by meekly surrendering to the Bush Administration's atrocious demand:
Either you are with us or with the terrorists. "The time has come for Pakistan to redeem its honour and sovereignty and save the entire region from the trauma it has suffered during the last ten years due to that Himalayan blunder", he added. While welcoming the APC call of the Prime Minister on September 29th, Professor Khurshid requested the participants to take a firm stand to protect Pakistan's sovereignty honour and the vital national interests of the people of Pakistan, which lie in immediately dissociating from the so-called war on terror and delinking Pakistan totally from the Americans' great game' in the region. According to Professor Khurshid America has placed all its cards on the table and brought Pakistan to a position where a clear and categorical decision has to be made.
"Pakistan Government's trust and response to the will of the people is welcomed. It is heartening to see the Military leadership and the Pakistani people on the same page," he added. "Pakistan must not be made pawn in the US-Indian game", he stressed. "Time has come for the Armed Forces to be on a state of alert and readiness to face any offensive from any quarter.
Professor Khurshid has also advised the American leadership not to misjudge the will and determination of the Pakistani people. He also warned the section of pro-US intellectuals and columnists who are busy promoting the imperialist's cause. "This is a moment of truth and the Pakistani nation, and its political and military leadership should face the challenge with faith in Allah and the resolve to safeguard Pakistan's independence and strategic interests whatever be the cost", he concluded.-PR
