At least four persons including a woman were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Sunday. According to the police and the rescuers, a man was shot dead at Railway Colony Malir within the limits of Malir City police station.
The deceased, who was later identified as Abid alias Shaka, 30, son of Yameen, was a resident of Dumba Goth. Police said the victim, who was missing from Saturday, received single bullet on his head and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities and later handed over to his family. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A seven-day old tortured body was found from a shop located at Jam Kando Goth within the limits of Shah Latif police station. The deceased was later identified as Hamza, 40, son of Saeed Ameer.
Police said that unidentified culprits killed Hamza and locked his body in a shop some seven days ago. They said the victim, who used to run garment business and live in this shop, hailed from Bannu, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico- legal formalities and later sent to his hometown.
A woman was crushed to death while her son sustained injuries in a road mishap at Super Highway within the jurisdiction of Gadap City police station.
The victim Shabana, 45, wife of Bakhar Jokhio who was on the way to home along with her son Mohammad Hussain, 18, on a bike was knocked by a speedy trawler. Resultantly, she died on the spot while her son got severe injures and rushed to hospital for treatment.
SHO Raja Aslam said the victim was the resident of Zikria Goth Toll Plaza while the responsible driver managed to flee after committing the said crime.
Yet another man lost his life in a road accident within the limits of Landhi police station. The victim was identified as Mehran, 30, son of Akhter a resident of Sherpao Colony. The body was shifted to JPMC where his family took him away without completing legal formalities.
