Pakistan could raise edible oil imports to 2 million tonnes in 2012, up 3.6 percent from 2010, as floods have adversely affected the cottonseed crop, a senior official at a trade body said on Saturday. Cottonseed oil supplies could fall by 5-10 percent to 500,000 tonnes in 2012 as recent floods in the country "reasonably affected the crop".
A. Rasheed Janmohammad, chairman of Pakistan Edible Oil Refiner's Association, said on the sidelines of the Globoil conference.
