Secretary Environment Sajjad Salim Hotiyana conducted surprise visits to Wapda hospital, Shera Kot area and Bucher House Bakkar Mandi and issued legal notices and warning to the concerned authorities on unsatisfactory condition of cleanliness and dengue control arrangements.
Sajjad Salim Hotiyana during his visit to Wapda hospital found huge hospital garbage stored there in spite of disposal through incinerator. He directed to take sample of the drain water from the drain passing through the hospital, which disclosed a large number of dengue larva.
During his visit to the dengue ward, used syringes were not spoiled through cutter and the same were stored in the corner which may cause to spread the virus. A legal notice was issued to the MS Wapda hospital on the spot on the directions of the Secretary Environment. Improve the working atmosphere as per directions within two days otherwise Chairman Wapda will be contacted for the purpose, directed Secretary Environment.
I will visit again after two days to observe the condition of the hospital, announced Sajjad Salim Hotiyana. He along with Deputy Director Environment Nasim-ur-Rehman and DDO Environment Younis Rai visited Shera Kot, Bund Road area and found a number of mosquitoes over a pond of rainwater. A team conducted spray there in the presence of the Secretary Environment who issued legal notice to TMA Iqbal Town and directed to drain out the water and treatment of the pond. Secretary Environment also visited Bucher House, Bakkar Mandi and issued warning on unsatisfactory condition of the cleanliness of the area.
