Blast at SSP house: Wasan announces Rs two million each for killed cops
Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan has announced rupees two million each for the policemen who lost their lives in the attack at the residence of SSP - CID, Karachi Police, Chaudhri Aslam here on Monday. The Minister, talking to media during his visit to the site of attack in Defence Housing Authority area, said police have lost 64 of its men this year, in line of their duty to protect people against terrorists and criminal elements.
About the blast at the residence of the senior police official, he said it was an attempt to mar the improved law and order situation and growing confidence of the people. "We will, however, counter such attempts of cowardice as successfully as we had handled instances of target killing," said the minister. He said police had been put on high alert and patrolling as well as snap checking had also been intensified across the city.
Manzoor Hussain Wassan, accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Waseem Ahmed, IG -Sindh Police, Wajid Ali Durrani, Additional IG - Karachi, Saud Ahmed and SSP Chaudhri Aslam said all needed assistance would be provided to the injured cops.
The government will bear all expense for repair of the police officer's residence, badly damaged in the incident. The Home Minister in reply to a question said culprits would be apprehended at every cost. He also visited Aga Khan Hospital and enquired the well being of the under treatment victims of the attack.
