Paying tributes to Mir Murtaz Bhutto on his death anniversary to be marked on Tuesday (today) President and Co-Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party Asif Ali Zardari has said Mir Murtaza Bhutto will be remembered for refusing to give up opposition to dictatorship despite suffering grievously for it.
Murtaza endured the agony and uncertainty of exile and the assassination of his brother and father that would have crippled many but Murtaza endured it with courage and fortitude, the President said in his message issued here on Monday. Murtaza who was gunned down on September 20, 1996 would be remembered for dedicating his life to fighting against dictatorship, Zardari said. Many people believe that Murtaza's murder was part of a conspiracy to overthrow the PPP government.
"The killers of Murataza would not escape punishment and they would be exposed and punished as the wheels of justice not only grind invisibly, but it grinds exceeding small," he added. The president also prayed for the soul of Murtaza and those killed with him. May Allah grant patience to their heirs to bear this heavy loss, he said.-PR
