While hearing a criminal appeal filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against former Federal Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and ex-Director General Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) the Supreme Court adjourned hearing on Monday.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani was hearing the case of the state through Prosecutor General N A B Islamabad Vs Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and other. Both were facing allegations of exercising their discretion over and above the equity and allegedly involved in embezzlement to allot plots to senators and others in the vicinity of Hayatabad Peshawar.
However, in the result of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation former Federal Interior Minister and Director General PDA were exempted from prosecution but recently on the cessation of NRO the National Accountability Bureau reopened the case against them. The NAB had filed appeal against the verdict of Peshawar High Court (PHC) in the apex court which hearing was adjourned till September 29 as the NAB counsel prayed for more time to prepare the case.
