Skin diseases, diarrhea, malaria and respiratory tract infection are the most common ailments which were found among the flood affected population of Badin district. This was reported by the team of doctors of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) who have set up camps in different parts of Badin district. Some 500 patients are treated at these medical camps daily.
According to doctors based at these medical camps majority of the patients who came for treatment were women and children. They were mostly found suffering from the ailments of respiratory tract infection, skins ravaged with boils and scabies. Besides, a big number of complaints of diarrhea were reported among children. A significant number of cases of malaria were also reported. SIUT had established similar camps in different parts of the country last year and treated some 103,864 patients of the flood affected areas in various parts of the country.
