At least five persons were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis here on Saturday. According to the police, a slaughtered body was found at Malir Cantt in the limits of Malir Cantt police station. The victim is identified as Ghulam Mustafa son of Ghulam Hussain, 42, a resident of Malir Cantt.
Police found his slaughtered body, which was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem from his quarter. Yet another man hung himself in his house at Jamshed Road in the limits of Jamshed Quarter police station. The victim 35-year-old Raza son of Yameen, a resident of Jamshed Road, committed suicide in his house. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), where his family took away the body without completing the legal formalities.
A taxi driver was crushed to death near Chota Gate in the jurisdiction of Air Port police station. The victim 50-year-old Mohammad Ashiq son of Pir Bux, a resident of Shah Faisal, was knocked by speedy passenger bus. Resultantly, he died on the spot. Police arrested the responsible driver Imran Noor. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico legal formalities. Police registered a case against driver and further investigation is in process.
Yet, another man was killed in road mishap at Vita Chowrangi Korangi in the precincts of Awami Colony police station. The victim 36-year-old Jamshed son of Salleh a resident of Model Colony was crushed while crossing the road near Vita Chowrangi. Police shifted his body to JPMC for legal formalities and later handed over his family.
A man was electrocuted at Ittehad Town Baldia in the limits of Maripur police station. The victim 26-year-old Mohammad Adnan son of Mohammad Ahmed, Ahmed a resident of Ittehad Town, received shocks when he touched electric pole near his house. Resultantly, he died on the spot. Police said the victim hailed from Mianwali and after completing the legal formalities, the body sent to his hometown.
