Fabrics worth Rs 2.2 million belonging to D. L. Nash Private Ltd, one of the biggest exporters, were stolen in broad daylight here on September 12. A truck loaded with goods, meant for export, was on its way to Afroze Textile Mills for re-dying and re-finishing, when it was hijacked by six persons at gunpoint along with its driver in Shadman No 2 area. After an hour the driver and cleaner were dropped on University Road.
When the owner of the truck Abdul Raheem went to the police station to get FIR registered same evening around 5pm, he waited there till 1am, but no FIR was registered. Ejaz Ahmed, General Manager (Export), D. L. Nash, has written a letter to SHO Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station, with copy to Ahmed Chinoy, CPLC Chairman, informing them about the incident but no action has been taken so far.
