A division bench headed by Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry while expressing displeasure over unnecessary delay on part of Punjab governor in capacity as chancellor of public sector universities gave last opportunity to make representation of his office in the court by September 21 with regard to proceedings of Intra Court Appeals (ICAs) against dismissal of petitions by the august court single bench pertaining to appointment of vice chancellors in six varsities.
The bench warned that the appointment of Government College University vice chancellor Dr Khaliqur Rehman recently made by the chancellor/governor would be suspended if office of the chancellor remained unrepresented on next hearing. A law officer Muhammad Hanif Khatana undertook the court to seek instructions from the chancellor in this regard by the next hearing.
