'Issues of ST and IT returns high priority': commissioners informed
Federal Board of Revenue Member Inland Revenue Shahid Hussain Asad has assured the Chief Commissioners of Large Taxpayer Units and Regional Tax Offices that the issues of the new sales tax and federal excise return and income tax return for Tax year 2011 would be addressed on top priority.
It has been reliably learnt here on Tuesday that FBR Member IR and Director General Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue (IR) has informed the Chief Commissioners of LTUs and RTOs that the issues of new sales tax return and income tax return would be shortly addressed taking into account the observations of the field formations.
Some of the Chief Commissioners have pointed out shortcomings in the sales tax return and income tax returns. Tax authorities have informed the heads of the field formations that the sales tax return form and income tax return form are being thoroughly reviewed taking into account the input of the tax officials as well as stakeholders particularly business and trade community.
The FBR will issue necessary clarifications, to remove any confusion among the stakeholders. In this connection, the FBR has also issued necessary instructions to the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL), the IT arm of the FBR for improving working of the FBR We-Portal. Chief Commissioners expressed satisfaction over the response of the FBR Member IR for speedy resolution of issues highlighted by the taxpayers in filing sales tax return as well as income tax return, sources added.
