Shura-e-Hamdard Karachi: speakers call to spread message of love, peace among citizens

Speakers at the meeting of Shura Hamdard Karachi chapter in their unanimous resolution have urged the political parties, media, ulema, poets, writers, teachers and students to spread message of love and peace among the citizens of Karachi.
They also urged the people of Pakistan in general and Karachi in particular to keep themselves away from those people who are responsible for spreading hatred in Karachi and Pakistan on the basis of language, race and region. The meeting was held on Thursday September 8, 2011, presided over by the former Chief Justice of Federal Shariat Court, Haziqul Khairi at a local hotel. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan was also present at the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, former ambassador of Pakistan, Mahdi Masud said: God Forbid! If Pakistan's safety and existence are threatened we would be in total loss and would lose all those things we hitherto have achieved and made on national and international levels. He said it was the duty of those political parties who won in general elections to provide safety to their voters.
"I appealed to ulema in a TV talk show to convey the message of peace and love in their speeches", he said, adding that it is a welcome sign that a few days back a joint statement of 50 ulema in this regard had appeared in newspapers. Referring a mathematical formula of plus and minus Engineer Anwarul Haq Siddiqui said that according to this formula we should always take plus as unity and discard minus, being an act of divide.
Dr Abubakar Sheikh said that failure of our country is not a failure of Pakistan as a state, but of elite class that remained in power since the fist day to this day. Dr Amir Tasin said a few people are responsible for terrorism in Karachi, but they are not punished, because nobody out of fear would come forward to give witness against them.
Justice (r) Haziqul Khairi said that Karachi is bleeding, but no one, even poets and writers, who are supposed to be most sensitive human beings, are silent and not raising their voice against this cruelty. Nusrat Nasarullah demanded that the Supreme Court should make the work, it started to bring normalcy in Karachi, a success.
Abul Fazal, former diplomat is of the opinion that whatever was being happened in Karachi and the country is war of Haves and Have-nots, because all wars are fought for want of human basic needs. Dr Mohammed Akhtar Saeed Siddiqui said that the conditions of the country and Karachi are the result of weak moral fiber of the society. Ulema could make the moral fiber strong but they got themselves involved in politics and lost their credit.
Haq Nawaz Akhtar is of the opinion that the basic problem is related to grabbing of land, property and substances of others. This trend was started from the very first day in Pakistan and now culminated in Karachi. Mohammed Ahmed Sabzwari requested the Supreme Court to stay in Karachi till the complete normalisation of situation took place at Karachi.
Colonel (r) Mukhtar Ahmed Butt suggested that thinkers and scholars should be invited to TV talk shows to tell the solutions of the problems of country especially of Karachi instead of politicians who failed to deliver and guide people. Mohammed Said Siddiqui, Dr Naeem Qureshi and Sarshar Siddiqui also spoke at the meeting.-PR
