Fumigation completed in 43 colleges, 650 schools

Provincial Minister for Education, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said fumigation spray in 33 out of 43 colleges and 650 schools has also been completed. Secretary Schools, Additional Secretary Higher Education, Director Colleges, EDOs, DEOs, and DDEOs were also present in the meeting held on Thursday.
The meeting was informed that fumigation would be completed in all private schools and colleges in the next 3 to 6 days. Separate control rooms have already been set up in schools and Higher Education Department to monitor fumigation and other preventive measures against dengue virus in educational institutions. Addressing the meeting, the minister said that two hundred private colleges and more than 4000 private schools in Lahore would also be fumigated. Provincial Control room would also be set up for monitoring the activities regarding dengue in all the educational institutions in Punjab, he added.
He said that along with spray, special attention would also be paid on the cleanliness in the educational institutions. He said that primary enrolment campaign should not be affected due to drive against dengue virus eradication and target of 100 percent enrolment would be achieved by 31st October.
