The five-day event is being organized by the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association (PPBA) in association with the National Book Foundation.
As many as 290 stalls have been set up at the Hall 1, 2 and 3 of the Expo Centre.
More than 160 local and foreign publishers are participating including those from America, United kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Iran, Turkey and India.
The Sindh Education Minister, Pir Mazhar- ul- Haq, will formally perform the inauguration on Saturday.
Academic and literary books in English, Urdu, Arabic, Sindhi and other languages have been put on display.
Launching of new books, talk shows and event for children would also be organised during the Book Fair.
The chairman of the PPBA, Aziz Khalid, said that there was very encouraging response of the people on the opening day of the Fair.
He said that he was very happy to see the interest on the part of the people.
Aziz Khalid said that school children, youngsters and women also visited the Book Fair in a large number.
