Muttaheda Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain and President Asif Ali Zardari had a 45-minutes telephonic conversation on Monday. In the conversation, which lasted for about 45 minutes, President Zardari inquired after the health of Altaf Hussain and congratulated him on his recovery.
The MQM Chief thanked President Zardari for the telephonic contact and sending flowers while he was ill. Both the leaders exchanged views on the political situation of the country, and it was agreed that relations between MQM and PPP would be strengthened.
They vowed to work jointly for strengthening democracy in the country, saying no conspiracy could sour the cordial relations between MQM and PPP. President Zardari hailed the role of Altaf Hussain and his party in bringing stability in the country and strengthening democracy. The President said that the guidance and support of Altaf was needed for democratic stability in the country and the future of the coming generations.
Altaf said that he would continue to work for peace, progress and strengthening of democracy in the country. The MQM Chief assured President Zardari of his full support saying he would always be there in the best interest of the country.
