DRR week to be marked from October 8

Published Updated

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will organise a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) week from October 8 to 13. The week will coincide with International DRR day being observed on October 13 with the theme of Invest today for a safer tomorrow.
The aim of DRR week is to highlight the importance of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for long-term sustainable development in the country and risk of inflicting huge damages if the DRR is not given the due priority.
The week will showcase the work that has been done so far by various stakeholders in the field of DRR and will provide a good platform to all for lessons to be learned and sharing of best practices in addition to networking with other partners and donors involved in realising the dream of disaster resilient countries.
