Five villagers died and five others fell unconscious as they consumed toxic liquor in the city outskirts on Sunday. According to police reports, some villagers had thrown a party to celebrate Eid at residence of former Naib nazim Union Council Ghulam Hyder Sheikh, some 5kms away from Larkana city where they drank locally made wine, as a result of which five of them died and five other fell unconscius and hospitalised.
Those killed were identified as Ghulam Rasool Sheikh (35), Muharram Ali Sheikh (34), Babu Sheikh (40), Khalid Sheikh and Aijaz Sheikh, resident of village Siddiqueabad. Those admitted to hospital were identified as Abdul Jabbar, Ali Nawaz Shaikh, Manzoor Shaikh, Safdar Shaikh and Umar.
