The Karachi Port handled 123,948 tonnes of cargo including 97,452 tonnes of import cargo, 26,496 tonnes of export cargo and 5,586 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 97,452 tonnes comprised of 51,267 tonnes of containerised cargo; 303 tonne of general cargo; 21,019 tonnes of bulk cargo: 18,500 tonnes of coal; 2,519 tonnes of fertiliser and 24,863 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,496 tonnes comprised of 18,972 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,024 tonnes of bulk cargo and 6,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely APL Ruby, Cape Mass, MT Lahore and Sety with two container ships, oil tanker and coal ship sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Al-Ihsaa, YM Fuzhou, YM America, Lindivia and Bow Cedar carrying four container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Al-Ihsaa and Morning Express carrying container ship and oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while five ships namely Lindivia, President Folk, Lt. Trieste, YM America and Safina-2 carrying four container ships and rice carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Five vessels viz President Folk, Lt. Trieste, Bunga Raya Lima, Oriental Wisteria and Morning Express with three container ships, ethanol ship and naphtha carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while three vessels viz Lahore Express, Hyundai Freedom and Fade-1 carrying three container ships and wheat carrier are due to arrive on Wednesday.
Three ships namely Emirates Yangtze, Salis and Atlantic Hope carrying two container ships and jet oil tanker respectively will due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship namely DL Diamond carrying chemicals will due to arrive on Friday.
A total number of six vessels CV Sealand Washington, MV Sapphire-II, MV Loanthi, MV Tycon-II, MT Golden Ambrosia and MT Bunga Allium are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, chemicals and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Six ships namely Ikaruga, CMA CGM Chopin, MN Henry, New Challenge, Al-Salam-II and Agility carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of two vessels viz CV Ikaruga and CV CMA CGM Chopin carrying containers are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Tuesday, while another container vessel viz CV Libra Ipanaema is due to arrive on Wednesday. Three container ships namely CV NYK Kai, CV Aurelia and CV MSC Natalia are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
