Capital Police have resolved 26 blind murders and held over 40 persons after collecting vital evidence against the culprits for their involvement in these murder cases, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Tuesday.
There were reports that some people from outside Islamabad are throwing bodies in the outskirts of Capital after committing crime and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan directed all police circles and police stations and Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) to remain vigilant and trace these people, the spokesman said.
The spokesman quoted the IGP as saying that there is no alternate to life and it is the responsibility of police to trace the killers of innocent people and provide justice to the bereaved families. He directed to give priority to investigation of murder cases and book the culprits.
The spokesman said that every available resource and latest investigation techniques were used to resolve these cases, which helped to trace the blind murders. He said that out of 26 blind murder cases resolved by Capital Police fourteen were from bordering areas of the Capital falling in jurisdiction of Tarnol and Koral Police Stations. He said that Tarnol resolved 8 blind murders, Sihala four, Aabpara three, two each by Shazad Town, Margalla, Koral, Industrial Area, golra and one each by Secretariat and Kohsar Police stations.
