PIA makes arrangements for Umrah passengers

Published Updated

Several of PIA flight flights have been affected due to congestion at Jeddah Airport in the current Umrah season. Managing Director PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousufzai has instructed PIA officials to provide special care to PIA Umrah Passengers. Under his guidance the airline has established a control room at Jeddah to monitor the Umrah flight operations.
All PIA Umrah flights departures and arrivals were on time with the exception of a few delays during the past few days due to non availability of parking bays at Jeddah airport. Along with this, there have been some incidences of protest and violence by passengers of some foreign airlines at Jeddah airport due to which operations of many airlines have been disturbed including PIA.
To facilitate its passengers PIA has made special arrangements at Jeddah airport for the provision of food and accommodation when required. The matter has been expeditiously taken up with Jeddah CAA Authorities and is expected to normalise soon. So far, PIA has operated more than 170 extra flights for Umrah besides its normal scheduled flights during current year.-PR
