Published Updated

The Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch, has said that Dr Zulfikar Mirza has lifted the lid off the crimes and the incompetence of the federal and the Sindh governments and revealed that the MQM was involved in the Karachi killings. Addressing an Iftar dinner here, he said that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain, President Zardari and Rehman Malik were equally involved in these crimes.
Terming the three as an anti Pakistan and anti Sindh trio, he said that peace was impossible in Karachi in their presence. Liaquat Baloch demanded a debate in the joint session of the parliament into the facts revealed by Dr Zulfikar Mirza and stressed that the federal government, especially President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani must take the nation in confidence on this score.
He said, the situation called for extraordinary steps as against routine measures and added that after the revelations by Dr Mirza, the functioning of the federal and the provincial governments was meaningless. Such a policy would only harm the democratic and parliamentary process, he added. He said that corrupt and incompetent rulers and bureaucrats both civil and military, had wasted 63 precious years of the nation's life and it was high time the masses got rid of US slaves and elected sincere, God-fearing and competent leadership to run the country.
