The profit after tax of Service Industries Limited has increased to Rs 283.145 million in the half year period ended June 30, 2011 as compared to Rs 233.577 million earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The companies earning per share has surged to Rs 23.54 in the period under review against Rs 19.42 in the same period last year. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Friday recommended a cash dividend at Rs 2.50 per share ie 25 percent.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales increased to Rs 5.744 billion in the half-year period in 2011 against Rs 4.620 billion in the same period in 2010. The cost of sales increased to Rs 4.906 billion against Rs 3.879 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 374.785 million in the half-year period in 2011 against Rs 349.755 million in the same period in 2010. On quarterly basis, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 106.915 million translating earning per share of Rs 8.89 in the quarter ended June 30, 2011 as compared to after tax profit of Rs 89.250 million with per share earning of Rs 7.42 in the corresponding quarter in 2010.
