Law and order in Karachi & Quetta: National Assembly special panel set up to submit report
A parliamentary committee of National Assembly has been constituted to oversee the law and order situation in Karachi and Quetta, which would submit its report within two months, according to a notification.
National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza has constituted this special committee in response to a motion under Rule 244 (B) of the Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business and unanimously adopted by the House on August 12, 2011.
In terms and conditions of the committee, it has been mandated to look into the law and order situation in Karachi (Sindh), Quetta (Balochistan) and report back to the House with recommendations.
Khurshed Ahmed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Noor Alam, Dr Attia Anayatullah Durrani, Abdul Qadir Patel, Mehtab Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Asif, Zahid Hamid, Tanvir Hussain, Ghous Bux Maher, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Zubaida Jalal, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Sohail Mansoor, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Fazal-ur-Rehman and Khuda Bux Rajar are the member of the committee.
