Three members of LeJ arrested

Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Sindh Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three militants of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and seized huge cache of weapons. According to official sources, a team headed by SSP Muhammad Fayyaz Khan on a tipoff conducted a raid near Vita roundabout, Korangi Industrial area and arrested three militants namely Danish, Tariq and Shah.
The team also seized 5kgs of high explosive material, 6 mortar rounds, 15 detonators, 9 devices, 2 electric wire sets, 3 TT pistols, several rounds and a snatched car. They said the detained militants, who belonged to banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi involved in several heinous crimes including targeted killings, kidnapping for ransom and robberies.
They said the accused, who were trained in Waziristan, used to evolve strategy for targeting prominent political and religious figures. Moreover, they said the accused during initial course of investigation confessed to have committed several crimes including robberies, targeted killings and kidnapping in Karachi. Further investigation was in progress.
