At-least seven persons were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis, here on Saturday. A man was shot dead near Nasir Jump Korangi Crossing in the jurisdiction of Korangi Industrial Area police station. The victim Hanif Abbasi, 45, a resident of Korangi area was targeted while going to home from work.
His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. SHO Ejaz Rajper said the victim who was employed in a private security firm was murdered over personal enmity. No case was registered till filing of this report. In yet another incident, a bullet-riddled body of an elder man was found near Government Girls Degree College at sector 7-A in the limits of Surjani police station. Police said the victim was murdered after severe torture. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue. The identity of victim is yet to be ascertained.
Three persons were killed in a crash between two cars at Nipa Chowrangi in Aziz Bhatti precincts. Police said that a speedy vehicle knocked a parked car at Nipa Chowrangi that left three persons including Shareef-ul-Hassan, 45, Bashir Hussain, 42 and Talib Hussain, 50 killed. The bodies were shifted to JPMC for post-mortem and later handed over to their heirs. Yet another man was crushed to death at Clifton in the limits of Boat Basin police station. The victim Naveed Khan, 30 son of Jamshed Khan, a resident of Saddar area, was hit by speedy vehicle while crossing the road in Clifton area. Resultantly, he died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities.
The body of a youth, drowned in Sea View beach in the limits of Darakhshan police station. The victim was identified as Bilal Ahmed son of Hafeez, a resident of Buffer Zone sector 15-A. Police said rescue teams recovered his body after four hours of hectic efforts, which was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities.
