Entrepreneurs, a USAID funded project, will expand the market opportunities for micro and small entrepreneurs in Pakistan through impacting a minimum of 120,000 entrepreneurs training, of whom 75 percent will be women. Out of these, 6,000 (at least 80 percent women) will be catered by Hashoo Foundation being an implementing Partner in the project.
The project aims at improving micro enterprises in dairy through improving their production capacity via better livestock management techniques, establishment of links to product and service input suppliers and by assisting in the creation of an efficient value chain for the marketing of dairy products.
In this connection, Hashoo Foundation organised a two-day Orientation Workshop for the project at Bahawalpur. Rafique Gundal, District Livestock Officer, Bahawalpur, was the chief guest at the certificate distribution ceremony. "The initiation of the project is expected to go a long way in improving the situation of the livestock and dairy production in the district. The district has a lot of potential, and the people are extremely hard-working. The only factor hampering the growth of this sector in the district is lack of training and capacity, so Hashoo Foundation is addressing a very critical and important need through its trainings", said the chief guest.
