FBR officials asked not to harass traders

Director Intelligence and Investigation, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Lahore, Sumaira Nazir has directed the staff of FBR Intelligence and Investigation Cell not to harass the traders of other cities who come to Lahore markets for purchase. She was talking to a delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), here on Saturday.
The delegation members told Nazir that there were complaints regarding a few staff members of the Federal Board of Revenue/Custom Intelligence who usually ask them to produce bill of entry and other documents. The staff harass the traders' community who come to Lahore for purchases as a result, the business in markets is badly affected, because the traders of other cities are reluctant to make their purchases from Lahore.
Nazir informed the delegation that FBR staff has been directed not to harass traders coming to Lahore for purchases of different goods. The delegation appreciated Nazir and said that her best co-operation would not only reduce the woes of traders but would also strengthen the relations between FBR and business community.
