Twenty-one truckloads of relief goods were sent to Mohmand Agency by Multan Corps on Saturday to provide relief to internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Fata to enable them celebrate Eidul Fitr. General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Sadiq Ali Khan sent the relief goods titled 'Eid Package' after a ceremony that was attended by army officers, notables of the city and philanthropists.
The relief goods included eatables and other necessary items that would be sufficient to meet needs of 4,000 families of Fata IDPs, said Brigadier Liaquat while giving a detailed briefing to the GOC. Former city district nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar said that Pakistan army was not only combating terrorism but also extending invaluable help to those who had to leave their homes due to terror activities.
He lauded the armed forces' role in the defence of the country and promised full co-operation from notables and philanthropists to provide relief to IDPs. Major General Sadiq Ali Khan said the armed forces were standing by the nation in these difficult times and would continue efforts to defeat terrorism and provide relief to IDPs.
