Collection by Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has surpassed Rs 1 billion in the head of Sales Tax on Services (SToS) of July 2011, while 27 August is the last date of filing of the returns. This was stated by the spokesman of SRB to Business Recorder here on Friday.
He said that more than Rs 1 billion had been deposited in the account of SRB, while Rs 150 million is still in the process of transaction which would be deposited within next couple of days. He said that some banks, insurance and telecommunication companies have not paid SToS to SRB despite non-issuance of notification of withdrawal of FED on Services by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
He said that many companies related to said services have not followed Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act 2011, and the rules made under this act in this regard. He thanked those companies and individuals related to almost all services including banking, telecommunication, insurance, franchise and others for paying taxes to SRB timely.
The spokesman advised taxpayers that if last date of paying SToS had expired on 25th August 2011, companies and individuals who did not pay their taxes, may contact affiliated-banks in this regard. More than 2500 taxpaying companies and individuals had enrolled at SRB, while the figure of registered taxpayers is about 4500 according to the list of FBR.
