The Karachi Port handled 81,618 tonnes of cargo including 56,426 tonnes of import cargo, 25,192 tonnes of export cargo and 4,409 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 56,426 tonnes comprised of 26,458 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,326 tonne of general cargo; 10,978 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,578 tonnes of DAP; 8,400 tonnes of coal and 17,664 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,192 tonnes comprised of 19,950 tonnes of containerised cargo; 425 tonnes of general cargo; and 1,325 tonnes of cement. Six ships namely Glen Canyon Bridge, APL Pearl, Hanjin Monaco, Grace, Abdullatif-S and Mercury Ace with three container ships, palm oil tanker, cement carrier and vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Bunga Raya Lapan, Bravo, Viona, Caribbean Sea, Stolt Stream and Mercury Ace carrying four container ships, oil tanker and vehicles carrier respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Sorrele and Stolt Stream carrying two oil tankers expected to sail on Thursday, while four ships namely Caribbean Sea, Bravo, Manila Express and Nadeem carrying three container ships and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Friday. Six vessels viz Emirates Indus, APL Guangzhou, Kota Anggerik, Deira-1, Sety and MT Karachi with four container ships, coal carrier and crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.
Three ships namely CV CSAV Pyrenes, ACX Margurite and MT Remi sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Wagner and MV Gera Simos are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels CV ACX Margurite, CV CMA CGM Wagner, CV CSAV Pyrenes, MV Sapphire-II, MV Tycoon-II, MV Afamia, MV Loanthi, MV Gera Simos, MT Remi and MT North Contender are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, canola seeds, furnace oil and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely New Challenger, Long Champ and Nicoline Maersk carrying diesel oil, cement and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Nicoline Maersk, CV Glori, CV OOCL Kobe and MT Grace carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday, while another container vessel CV MSC Magali is due to arrive on the same day.
