Violence in Karachi: MQM shedding crocodile tears: Jamaat-e-Islami
Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaquat Baloch has said MQM itself is responsible for the bloodshed in Karachi but it is shedding crocodile tears by observing strikes and mourning day. Speaking at an Iftaar party on Monday, he said that continued bloodletting in the port city during the Prime Minister Gilani's visit, had proved that the writ of the government did not exist.
He said the decision of the traders and industrialists not to meet the Prime Minister clearly indicated that the government did not enjoy the confidence of any community. He said that Karachi was the economic hub of the country but continued lawlessness and violence in the city was causing losses of billions of rupees to the national economy. The closure of markets and industries prior to the Eid-ul-Fitr was adding to the worries of millions of people. He further said that the PPP, MQM and ANP were equally to be blamed for the killings in Karachi.
