Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said enemy cannot dare harming the world 7th nuclear power, if we follow Quaid's principles in letter and spirit. Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam here, the premier urged the nation to uphold Quaid's dictates of faith‚ unity and discipline.
He said the government wants to project Pakistanis as a peace-loving nation. It will also promote democratic face of Pakistan and present itself as a torchbearer of peace and security in the world. The premier vowed to transform Pakistan into a truly welfare Islamic state as envisioned by its founding leader Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said the government will promote the democratic face of Pakistan and present itself as a true flag bearer of peace and security in the comity of nations.
He said though the country is facing multiple challenges including the menace of terrorism but by pursuing the principles of unity‚ faith and discipline espoused by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah‚ we can make it a strong state and put it on the path of progress and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion‚ Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said Quaid-i-Azam's visionary leadership changed the course of history and created a country where Islamic principles of tolerance‚ equality and fraternity could be practiced.
She said the government is working to make Pakistan according to the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam. She said that it was the vision of Quaid-e-Azam that had changed the geography of the sub-continent by defeating Hindu capitalists. She said just after first two leaders of the country, dictators occupied it but, she added Zulfikar Ali Bhutto freed the country of dictators by following the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and the then Benazir Bhutto continued the mission of ZAB Shaheed and sacrificed her life after his martyrdom.
She appreciated Majid Nizami, Chairman Nazaria Pakistan Trust, for his efforts for protecting ideological borders of the country and assured him of government's co-operation. The Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam project will be constructed on 48 kanals of land at a cost of 940 millions of rupees.
Earlier in his address of welcome‚ Vice Chairman of Nazaria-e-Pakistan Trust‚ Dr Rafiq Ahmad said Aiwan-e-Quaid-e-Azam will be the center of the wishes and aspirations of the nation. Chairman Nazaria-e-Pakistan Trust‚ Majeed Nizami said the main cause of problems being faced by the nation today‚ is our negligence towards the vision of the Great Quaid. Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa and Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif were also present on the occasion.
