The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has increased per child funding from Rs 350 to Rs 400 for the partner schools associated with the PEF under New School Programme (NSP).
NSP is primarily aimed to provide free educational facilities in poor and remote areas where school infrastructure is either scarce or too inadequate to accommodate the poor students who cannot afford to join other schools due to various socio-economic constraints including lack of resources or social pressures in case of girls.
This was stated by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation, Raja Muhammad Anwar while talking to a delegation of owners of NSP partner schools at his office on Saturday. PEF's Project Officer (NSP) Hassan and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
Raja Anwar further informed that previously maximum per school funded enrolment was 250 students, which now has been increased to 300 students for NSP partner schools. The purpose is accommodating more deserving students, he maintained. The Punjab Education Foundation was working hard to open the doors of free education to the poor and vulnerable families through public private partnership in Punjab so that every child could get quality education. The partner schools are best serving the cause of nation by playing an active role in this crusade, concluded Raja Anwar.
